The Town Clerk's Office will be open (as of January 5th):

Mondays 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Tuesdays 7:00 am to 7:00 pm
Wednesdays & Thursdays 9:00 am to 2:00 pm

LEGAL NOTICE

NOTCE IS HEREBY GIVEN that I have received the tax roll and warrant for collecting taxes in the Town of Barrington and I will receive said taxes at the following times at the Barrington Town Hall Mondays 9:00 am until 5:00 pm, Tuesdays 7:00 am until 7:00 pm, Wednesdays and Thursdays 9:00 am until 2:00 pm.  During the month of January taxes will be collected without fee or penalty.  On all taxes remaining to be paid after January 31st, 2026 a penalty of 1% will be added for the month of February and 2% penalty will be added for the month of March.

All unpaid taxes will be returned to the Yates County Treasurer on April 1st, 2026 at which time a penalty of 5% plus 12% interest per annum will be added.

Public Hearing for Comprehensive Plan Update

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of the Town of Barrington will be holding a PUBLIC HEARING on the COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE on February 9th, 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Town Hall located at 4424 Bath Road, Penn Yan, NY and County of Yates.  The Comprehensive Plan update can be reviewed here on the website or at the Town Clerk's office during normal office hours.  Barrington Residents are encouraged to attend.

ZBA Public Hearing

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that there will be a public hearing on March 12th, 2026 at 6:00 pm at the Town Hall located at 4424 Bath Road, Penn Yan, NY and County of Yates for a variance application.  The property owners of address 621 East Lake Road, Dundee, NY 14837 are applying for a variance to renovate their cottage, a variance for a front setback from the lake front high water mean which actual is 14' 5", requesting a variance of 10' 7" minimum requirement is 25', and a variance for the lot coverage that exceeds the 25% maximum.
